Prof. Dr. Mert Akbaş, FIPP, is an academic specializing in anesthesiology and pain management. He served for many years as a faculty member at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine and held the positions of Board Member and Honorary Secretary at the World Institute of Pain (WIP). He has special expertise in decompressive neuroplasty, neuromodulation, radiofrequency thermocoagulation and CT-guided percutaneous cordotomy for cancer pain.
