Prof. Dr. Barış Bakır graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine (1992–1999) and completed his radiology residency at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (2000–2005). He joined the same faculty as a specialist and lecturer in 2005, became associate professor in 2010, and has been a professor since November 2018.
His clinical and academic interests include abdominal radiology, prostate imaging and multiparametric prostate MRI, PSMA PET/CT-MRI, MR/TRUS fusion biopsy, and focal therapy for prostate cancer.
