Prof. Dr. Barış Bakır completed his medical education at Ankara University, Ankara Faculty of Medicine (1992–1999). He completed his radiology residency at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine between 2000 and 2005. He joined the same faculty as a specialist physician and lecturer in 2005, became an associate professor in 2010, and has been working as a professor since November 2018.
His clinical and academic interests are abdominal radiology, prostate imaging and multiparametric prostate MRI, PSMA PET/CT-MRI imaging, MR/TRUS fusion biopsy and focal therapies for prostate cancer.
