Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ozan Ali Erdal was born in Istanbul in 1982. In 2007, he graduated summa cum laude, second in his class, from the English-language medical program of Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. He then completed his residency at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the same faculty between 2008 and 2013. He passed the examinations of the Turkish Board of Orthopedics and Traumatology (TOTEK) in 2012 and 2013 and of the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EBOT) in 2014 and 2015, earning the FEBOT title.
He completed an orthopedic fellowship at LVR-Klinik für Orthopädie Viersen in Germany and a pediatric orthopedic fellowship at Ortopediatri Istanbul in 2015-2016. He received the title of associate professor of orthopedics and traumatology in October 2022. Since March 2023, he has been practicing at his own clinic in Istanbul, the "Dr. Ozan Ali Erdal Pediatric Orthopedics Clinic", and works as a consultant pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Lokman Hekim Istanbul Hospital (since 2025) and HG Hospital in Kahramanmaraş (since 2025). Since 2025, he has been a faculty member in anatomy at the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Health Sciences, Medipol University.
He previously worked at Acıbadem Taksim Hospital (2017-2022), Emsey Hospital (2018-2024), Merkez Prime Hospital Kocaeli (2020-2025), Haliç University (2018-2024) and İnebolu State Hospital (2013-2015). He spent time as a scrubbed observer in congenital deformities and limb length discrepancies at The Paley Institute in Florida and The Paley European Institute in Warsaw. His clinical interests are cerebral palsy, developmental dysplasia of the hip, osteogenesis imperfecta, lower-limb length discrepancy and deformity surgery, pediatric foot and ankle problems, and telescopic intramedullary nailing. He is a member of the Turkish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (TOTBID), the Turkish Medical Association (TTB) and the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (EPOS).
