Prof. Dr. Mustafa Faruk Usta was born in Rize in 1968. He completed his medical education at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (1986–1992) and his urology residency at the same institution (1992–1997). After his military service, he worked briefly at Kartal Training and Research Hospital; since 2000, he has been working at the Division of Andrology, Department of Urology, Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine.In 1993, he completed a clinical rotation at the Department of Urology, Heidelberg University, Mannheim. From 2001 to 2003, he worked as an andrology research fellow at Tulane University School of Medicine (New Orleans, USA). Most of his clinical practice is in andrology; his main interests are penile prosthesis implantation, Peyronie's disease surgery and microsurgical varicocelectomy.He has 67 articles in peer-reviewed journals and numerous international awards. He is a member of ISSIR, ESSM, EAU, AUA, the Turkish Urological Association and the Turkish Society of Andrology.
