Prof. Dr. Evrim Tezcanlı (full name: Evrim Tezcanlı Tjon A Meeuw) is an academic and clinician with international experience in radiation oncology. After completing her medical education at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (1995-2001), she completed her residency at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Marmara University Faculty of Medicine (2002-2005), and a clinical fellowship in central nervous system radiosurgery/radiotherapy at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, affiliated with Harvard Medical School (2006-2007).Since 2007, she has been a faculty member at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Acıbadem University, and treats patients at the Altunizade and Ataşehir hospitals of Acıbadem Healthcare Group. She was awarded the title of professor by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in 2024. Between 2017 and 2018, she established the Radiation Oncology Department, the Gamma Knife unit and the Radiation Safety Program of the Acıbadem Kent Hospital Cancer Center and put them into service. Since 2020, she has also been contributing to the development of deep-learning algorithms for personalized treatment as a contract radiation oncologist/consultant at Toronto-based Altis Labs.Her clinical and academic interests include breast cancer, SRS/SBRT, MR LINAC, adaptive radiotherapy, central nervous system and pediatric tumors, oncology nutrition, the microbiota and cancer prevention. She is a member of ESTRO, ASTRO, the Turkish Radiation Oncology Society, the Pediatric Radiation Oncology Society (PROS) and the SIOP Europe Radiation Oncology Working Group, and is also active within ESTRO as a FALCON Tutor and ESTRO School Teacher. She has numerous publications in international peer-reviewed journals and four book chapters.
