Prof. Dr. Alper Toker is an internationally recognized thoracic surgeon. In 2015, he served as President of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS). After working for many years at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, he has been working as Chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at West Virginia University since 2019. He has done pioneering work in tracheal reconstruction, robotic thoracic surgery and thymic surgery. He has more than 171 publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
