Prof. Dr. Alper Toker is an internationally recognized thoracic surgeon. He served as President of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) in 2015. After a distinguished career at Istanbul University Istanbul Medical School, he has been serving as Chief of the Thoracic Surgery Division at West Virginia University since 2022. He is a pioneer in tracheal reconstruction, robotic thoracic surgery, and thymic surgery. He has authored over 171 publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
