Prof. Dr. Evrim Tezcanlı (full name: Evrim Tezcanli Tjon A Meeuw) is an internationally trained academic and clinician in radiation oncology. She received her medical degree from Istanbul University Istanbul Medical School (1995-2001), completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine (2002-2005), and pursued a clinical fellowship in CNS Radiosurgery/Radiotherapy at Harvard Medical School's Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute (2006-2007).
Since 2007 she has been on the faculty of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Acıbadem University, treating patients at Acıbadem Health Group's Altunizade and Ataşehir Hospitals. She was promoted to Professor of Radiation Oncology by the Council of Higher Education of Turkey in 2024. Between 2017 and 2018 she founded and led the Radiation Oncology Department, the Gamma-Knife Unit, and the Radiation Safety Program at the Acıbadem Kent Hospital Cancer Center. Since 2020 she has also served as a contract radiation oncologist and advisor at Altis Labs in Toronto, Canada, contributing to the training of deep-learning algorithms for personalized cancer treatment.
Her clinical and research interests include breast cancer, SRS/SBRT, MR LINAC, adaptive radiotherapy, central nervous system and pediatric tumors, oncology nutrition, microbiota, and cancer prevention. She is a member of ESTRO, ASTRO, the Turkish Radiation Oncology Society, the Pediatric Radiation Oncology Society (PROS), and the SIOP Europe Radiation Oncology Working Group, and serves as an ESTRO FALCON Tutor and ESTRO School Teacher. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed international publications and four book chapters.
